Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
This 2-day course is taught in the community and covers cardiac arrest, cardiac drugs, rhythms, ACS, triage, mega-code and much more. Completion of this course provides participants with an AHA ACLS 2-year certification.
Basic First Aid-Emergency Care Basic Life Support
This 6-8 hour course covers all the basics: first aid, medical emergencies, trauma, pediatrics, infant/child/adult CPR(new 2010 standards), infant/child/adult airway obstructions, environment emergencies, bloodborne pathogens, home safety, disaster preparedness and the use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator). Included in this class is our full color reference manual for each student and a 2-year completion card. CPR is taught to American Heart Association standards and the course meets L&I’s requirements for business and industry. We are also able to give CEU for electricians and plumbers licensed in the State of Washington and Oregon, journeyman level or higher. Our instructors come to your location and work around your schedule, utilizing many different types of training tools. All students get the opportunity to practice the skills they learn and build confidence to make a difference in an emergency.
Bloodborne Pathogens
A 1-2 hour lecture that provides an in-depth view of the potential dangers of providing care and working with blood and body fluids. This course will demystify the rumors and provide accurate, up-to-date information for all industries. Also covered are necessary personal protection (PPE) and plenty of time for Q&A.
BLS for the Healthcare Provider (HCP-CPR)
This is an American Heart Association class that teaches cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the level of healthcare providers. Whether you’re in medicine, PT or dentistry, this is the class for you. We can schedule a class for your office at your location or fit you into one of the many open enrollment classes we have in the community. Completion of this course provides participants with a 2-year cert for HCP.
Confined Space Awareness
This 1-hour lecture class provides students with an overview of confined space safety. No certification is given, however students receive a handout for later reference.
Confined Space Permanent Required Entry
This 4-hour course covers hazards, respiratory protection, fall protection, hot work permits and ventilation amongst other topics. Those who hold a water certification card will receive .4 ceu’s upon completion.
CPR/AED
This 3-4 hour course offers a great review of CPR and the use of an AED for infant, child and adult. Also covered is the basics of personal protection and bloodborne pathogens. A 2-year completion card is given for this class. This course makes a great review during the year that first aid courses aren’t taken.
Defensive Driving
This 3-4 hour course is a great refresher for those who drive for a livng. The course is designed to review safety and defensive driving tactics. Students are issued printed certificates of completion.
Hearing Protection
1 hour of precious prevention training. Learning which noises and what levels are most damaging to your precious auditory sense. This covers identification and prevention.
Live Fire
This is one of the most fun and most useful classes you’ll take. If you look around and see the number of fire extinguishers available to you (work, home, the mall, sporting arena’s) it’s a pretty amazing number. What’s even more amazing is how few people actually know when, why and how to use a fire extinguisher. This class is about 45 minutes of classroom explanation and then an hour or so of live fire! That’s right, you get to grab the extinguisher, pull the pin and fight the fire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Whether you’re in pediatrics, nursing or emergency, this abundance of pediatric knowledge is invaluable. Items such as pediatric cardiac arrest, post-resuscitative care, rapid sequence intubation and pediatric drugs are covered. Completion of this course provides participants with an AHA PALS 2-year certification.
Personal Protection & Hazardous Waste Handling
Scheduled for 1-2 hours, this course covers recognition and reporting of hazardous wastes as well as hazardous waste disposal. The course can be customized for your county. We will also teach students the best type of PPE for their jobs, where to access that equipment and how to maintain it.
Respiratory Fit Testing
As required by OSHA, quantitative fit testing is performed on each student wearing their own respirator. This testing takes approximately 10-15 minutes per student and ‘fails’ can be retested the same day. A quantitative analysis is issued to each student after class. Students with multiple respirators should bring them all to class and be tested on each one individually.
